The hotel bedroom was very lovely and comfortable. The price of the room was also a deciding factor.
The hotel food was rather bland and the pasta wasn't overly warm (vegetarian option) I wasted half of the meal in the end!
the nice historical building, the new refurbished rooms are good, the bathroom was ok : there was enough hot water, tea - coffee facilities in the room; the englisch breakfast was good
The instructions about location where poor.
The room was very comfy, quiet and clean.
The food at evening meal and Breakfast was of a poor standard. (Poor standard and service, blue rinse hair found in my breakfast) On Arrival i had to wait 2 1/2 hours for an iron and ironing board
Excellent executive rooms, good freshly cooked breakfast, excellent value evening meals
As a newcomer to Maidstone I thought it was very difficult to find. Not on any of your publicity was there any information that you had to drive into a school.
The executive rooms are beautifully designed and very comfortable with fantastic showers. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to order with a good selection for the continental option. I ate an evening meal here too, the brie, wild mushroom and tarragon omelette was probably the best I've ever had. The location is very quiet and peaceful. I can't find anything negative to say, have already booked to stay there again.
More to make people aware, soom of the rooms are quite a walk from reception but this didn't bother me at all.
The new rooms are excellent! Storm shower much better than the old small showr units this hotel used to have.
the clean modern design of the room in a character building, within a quiet location
no hotel staff on the desk in the morning, found it difficult and guest unfriendly in trying to locate someone to hand in 'the key'
From the outside it looks lovely, makes you feel very posh. The room was lovely aswell, even though it was wrong.
When my partner and I arrived, we were informed at reception that we had been given a twin room instead of the double room I booked. The receptionist managed to find us a double room, however this was suitable for someone with a disability. The room was fine, although it did make myself and my partner feel a little uncomfortable as silly as that sounds. This made our experience less romantic than we were hopeing for. We also found a half drunk bottle of wine hidden behind the tv, I can only guess this had been left by the previous guest. We also missed out on breakfast the next morning as we had to leave before it was served, I understand that this was not your fault.
In this hotel works a lady during the breakfast hours that gives you a feeling 'home away from home'. She is the credit to the Hotel. Thanks for great breakfastexperience!!!
What is less positive about this hotel? The evening meal that is served is not what you may expected from this hotel. My advice to the chef; buy yourself a Jamie Oliver cookbook (at the moment on special at Sainsbury) and cook something not so boring and tasteless.
A comfortable friendly hotel at a great rate.
The waiting staff in the mornings were very attentative and gave a good service. Our room was modern and clean.
We arrived very late and our key for our room had not been activated which was annoying and then on our return the second day it did not work again and it was difficult to get hold of reception staff to help with the problem.
Price/quality relationship for proposed dinners in the evening was correct. The beds are excellent. After error by hotel staff with the booking we got for 2 days the presidential suite. The staff is friendly and the car parking is large
This hotel is for 100% targeting party's, weddings and seminars and is absolutely not focussed on "regular travellers". A few examples : we stayed for 4 nights and every night there was a party going on which could be heard through half of the hotel. There was even one night a large fireworks for 10 minutes at 10.00 pm in the garden while we were already asleep ! While having dinner at night in the restaurant, one could dance on the disco music from the ball room which was next to the restaurant. Drunken party people started even a fight in the restaurant while we were having dinner ! An error was made in the room allocation (we booked 2 rooms for 4 people) although details were mentioned while booking on the internet (shower/bath). Standard rooms are very small and most have a connecting (but closed) door between 2 rooms which makes you hear really everything what happens in the other room. I woke up at 6 am when someone in the other room went to the bathroom. I could follow a full conversation in the other room, although these people were not speaking loudly. The bed in the presidential suite is excellent, but with every single movement you make, the bed "cracks" so intense and loudly that you can hardly sleep. The toilet in the standard room we had was extremely dirty and the warm water in the shower was not working. In the restaurant knifes and forks were not clean. On Sunday the normal restaurant was closed for breakfast; breakfast moved to a large reception room with only large round tables for 14 or 16 people; not very comfortable if you travel with only 4 people and have to sit in a "row" or have to join party people at the same table. No privacy at all in the latter case. Bookin.com lists this hotel as a 4 star; but at the entrance of the hotel is advertised 3 stars. Hence Booked.net should alter the qualification of this hotel on the internet and bring it in line with the reality. But normal tourists should avoid this hotel ...
Old part of the house was very attractive, as are the hotel grounds. The design and decor of the rooms and the bar area are quite attractive. Breakfast was pretty good, but laid out on huge tables which was a little odd.
Hotel had a rather odd layout, we had to walk through a Wedding party to get to our room. Our TV didn't work properly in room 18.
